Kuznetsova defeats Mauresmo at Dubai
Notice to all overly enthusiastic sports column writers: now is your first hint to shut it about Mauresmo winning all the Slams in one year. She was ousted from the Dubai tournament by has-been Kuznetsova, 7-6 (13-11), 6-4. Let's see Mauresmo win another Slam before we get all excited. Sheesh.

wow you mean someone that's played what 4 weeks in a row now, actually dared to lose a match. shocking. yup this is clearly an indication that her success of late is overrated and her doing well at the remaining slams is out of the question despite having a game that's well suited to any surface. do i think she's going to win all 4? no, but writers start talking nonsense like that with whoever wins oz. so is this loss somehow a slap in the face to their overactive imaginations? no. give her a break.

Re-read the post - no Mauresmo-bashing at all. This is true, as you point out, of many winners of a slam - the press goes crazy with predictions. I am *only* stating they should lay off these lame predictions. But she still won't win them all. :)
