Hewitt still questionable for Davis Cup
Yeah, I don't think Lleyton Hewitt is going to play. Either that, he enjoys going out of his way to make his own life more difficult than it needs to be.
Lleyton Hewitt is keeping his options open as pressure mounts for Australia's number 1 to play this month Davis Cup semi-final away in Argentina.
With a recovering knee injury, the former world number 1 and US Open winner five years ago has enough on his plate at the final Grand Slam of the season.
And despite repeated questioning - and a declaration from number 113 Mark Philippoussis that he is keen to travel to Buenos Aires with the team for the September 22-24 date - Hewitt has nothing to say.
'I'm not even gonna get in the debate right now,' said the Australian, seeded 15th.
The Hewitt camp indicate that their man won't make a decision until his Open is done. But speculation is that he might well use his knee injury as an excuse not to front up for what promises to be an ill-tempered tie on clay in the heart of the enemy camp. M & C
